Economists: September Rate Hike Likely

interest-rates

A panel of economists sat down for a round-table discussion on CNBC’s Squawk Box on Monday and revealed that an interest rake hike is likely imminent in September.

According to Russ Koesterich, an investment strategist at BlackRock Global, the Federal Reserve is likely to raise interest rates as the U.S. economy continues to shows signs of strengthening.

“Maybe the Fed is going to take their time, maybe it will be a December hike, not September,” Koesterich said. “But the reality is at some point in the next six to nine months we’re going to start to see that accommodation being removed.”
